Active Artist Award Form
Active Artist Award
Artists desiring an active artist award for reimbursement of eligible purchases can talk with our staff to see if what they would like to purchase qualifies for reimbursement. It is a one page form for reimbursement of up to $500. One active artist award per artist in a calendar year. Individuals must be currently very active visual artists, performing artists, media artists, and writers who legally reside in in Region 1: (Minnesota counties of Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, or Roseau). These awards are available as funds allow.
Ideas…
Performing artists may want to upgrade their equipment travel cases or buy a microphone and amp. Writers may be working with an editor and love some money to offset those bills. Visual artists may need brushes, paint, or supplies to replenish. Media artists may want some studio lights for their filming. Perhaps you have on-line training that you would love to take this summer and the $500 can cover part of that sign-up cost.
Tip! Before you make a new purchase, email Mara to make sure that it is eligible for reimbursement.
Items that are not reimbursable include … mileage, gas receipts, hotel, your time, food, drink; household items like printers, computers, phones, cameras.
