Karlstad

Karlace Taylor is a piano instructor from Karlstad. She has a strong love for the arts and is an advocate for all things related to them, whether it’s musical, visual, theatrical or other.

As a piano instructor, she teaches lessons to students of all skill levels, ages 3 years old to senior citizens, regardless of income, physical, or mental disabilities. She believes that everyone should have the opportunity to learn anything they set their heart and mind to regardless of their personal circumstances. She’s an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and mental heath in the arts, as well as an active supporter of Black Lives Matter and Indigenous communities. She’s been a regular participant and supporter of the arts in our region and welcomes the opportunity to be more tangibly involved by serving on the NWMAC board.

Asked why the arts are important, Karlace quoted Albert Einstein, "Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand." And explained, “This quote sums up perfectly why the arts are important to me, and I believe for everyone!
