Calling Community Music Ensembles

This project wants to identify and amplify the benefits that community music ensembles bring to Greater Minnesota. They're doing this through conversations with ensemble organizers and web surveys.

The goals include 1) increased visibility for community ensembles through the internet, including a "musical map" of Minnesota that directs people to ensemble information through an online map, geared towards musicians and audiences; 2) developing a better understanding of how ensembles enrich our communities, which can be used by ensembles in their own promotion and fundraising, as well as gathering and sharing information about the benefits that ensemble members find in participating in a community music ensemble 3) identifying resources and collaborations that would benefit community ensembles in Greater Minnesota.

Are you an ensemble member or leader? Please consider contacting Denise Odello at odell059@morris.umn.edu for more information.

This is supported in part by the Center for Small Towns, part of the Clifford J. Benson Center for Community Partnerships and the University of Minnesota Morris.
