North Dakota Museum of Art (NDMOA) Seeks a Director
OPPORTUNITY TO LEAD A SMALL BUT VITAL ART MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART THAT HAS BEEN IMPACTFUL REGIONALLY AND NATIONALLY.
The North Dakota Museum of Art (NDMOA) seeks a director to succeed its founder, who built it over 50 years from an exhibit in a university hall into a widely recognized, influential art museum. Located on the campus of the University of North Dakota, it serves as the state art museum dedicated to bringing contemporary art to the city and to a rural population through exhibits and educational programs. The museum is supported by the state, generous donors, grants, and a dedicated foundation.
The new director will embrace the mission of engaging and challenging people of the northern Plains with contemporary art. They will lead a small staff accustomed to working as a team beyond their job descriptions to produce meaningful programming and contribute to the state’s cultural life. The new director, the board, and the staff will amplify the vision and translate it into new exhibitions, collections, and programs underpinned by a stable, sustainable financial base.

Minnesota State Arts Board launches the first grant opportunity for its 2023 grant cycle
The Minnesota State Arts Board has opened the first grant program for its fiscal year 2023 grant cycle (July 2022 – June 2023). Application materials and the online application portal are now available for the FY 2023 Operating Support grant program. Applications are due Friday, January 21, 2022, before 4:30 p.m.
Operating Support provides general support to high quality, established arts organizations that produce, present, or exhibit works of art; to organizations that provide a broad range of services to artists; and to community arts schools and conservatories that make arts learning available to Minnesotans of all ages and abilities.
All Arts Board grant programs are open, statewide, to any applicant that meets the eligibility requirements. Specific requirements for this program are listed in the FY 2023 Operating Support Program Overview and Application Instructions document posted on the Arts Board website: http://www.arts.state.mn.us/grants/operating-support.htm
First time applicants are encouraged to carefully review the Program Overview and Application Instructions and then call the program officer prior to beginning an application.
The board will announce other fiscal year 2023 grant opportunities early in 2022.
The Minnesota State Arts Board is a state agency that stimulates and encourages the creation, performance, and appreciation of the arts in the state. It works to ensure that all Minnesotans can participate in and benefit from the arts.

Calling Community Music Ensembles
Are you a community music ensemble member or leader? This initiative hopes to create a "musical map" of Minnesota that directs people to ensemble information through an online map, geared towards musicians and audiences; and gather and share information about the benefits that ensemble members find in participating in a community music ensemble. If ensembles are interested, they plan to work towards collaboration and communication between ensembles and identifying challenges and strategies.
Minnesota State Arts Board seeking reviewers for American Rescue Plan grant applications
Minnesota State Arts Board seeking reviewers for American Rescue Plan grant applications
The Arts Board needs involvement of Minnesota citizens – like YOU – from a variety of backgrounds to review American Rescue Plan grant applications remotely. These are general operating funds that can be used to help small and midsized Minnesota nonprofit arts organizations and arts affiliates rebuild and reopen as the COVID-19 pandemic wanes.
Reviewers will receive a modest financial stipend for their time providing feedback on applications and helping determine which will be recommended to receive funding. American Rescue Plan Grants will be distributed broadly, to help support the people and places that makeup the critical infrastructure of Minnesota's arts community.
In brief, reviewers can expect to:
Serve a three-week term remotely either February 7 - February 25, 2022, or February 28 – March 18, 2022
Participate in training sessions online
Read, score, and take notes on a set of 30-35 applications at your own pace using WebGrants online (no panel discussion required)
Spend, on average, 25-30 hours total
Receive a financial stipend of $200

Performances are scheduled for February 16-19, 2022 at NCTC. Questions? Email trfact56701@gmail.com.
